    Description

This report is on a thick, heavy wax coated paper that is very stiff.  This makes it very hard to the style of printing used.  There are two staples holding the book-like publication together that seem to be more modern.
The report is from a committee appointed by the US House of Representatives regarding appropriations that have been used by the Marine Corps since inception up to the end of 1803, and specifically whether those monies have been "faithfully applied to the public service, in conformity to existing laws".
I believe this is an original copy of the report given to Robert Brown, who was at the time US Representative for Pennsylvania's 2nd District, as I have another report of his where you can clearly read his name.  I also have a copy of another very similar report that is stamped from the archives of the United States Marine Corps that was found with this along with two other original reports related to this investigation.  They are also listed so be sure to check them out.
The main focus of this report is on the monies paid to Co. Wm. W. Burrow, Commander of the United States Marines Corps at that time.  It is a summary from the US accountant and 8 pages, with their conclusion in the front and summary in the back.
