    Description

For sale today I have a 1965 Corvair Corsa Convertible.  This car came from Los Angeles and is absolutely rust free with all original floors and sheet metal, never crashed. The engine is a completely rebuilt 140HP 4 carb engine, The engine was balanced, crank polished, new rod and main bearings, forged pistons, total seal rings, Schnieder performance cam (good idle...not crazy), Elgin USA made lifters, new timing gear, new oil pump, aluminum valve covers and oil pan with Clarks performance oil pump pick up, stainless steel valves, bronze guides, new pushrods and rocker arms, Seth Emerson electronic ignition, 8mm silicone wires, internally regulated 78 amp alternator, rebuilt carbs with new throttle shafts and jets, a "cowl induction" air cleaner I made that sucks cool air from the rear cowl rather than hot-as-hell air from the engine compartment and probably more that I'm forgetting. The transaxle is a heavy duty 1966 unit with 3.27 gears and a heavy duty Saginaw 4-speed that has been rebuilt and filled with royal purple synthetic fluid, bolted Clarks flywheel and new clutch. The shift tube was rebuilt with bronze bushings. Also new clutch cable. Front suspension has new ball joints, a rebuilt steering box, rear suspension has adjustable Corvette strut rods and bushings, all 4 shocks are new gas shocks and a 4-wheel alignment performed. The brake system was all rebuilt and features a 1967 dual master cylinder and proportioning valve and the system was filled with DOT5 synthetic brake fluid. I upgraded the gauges to modern gauges that monitor fuel level, oil pressure, oil temp, volts, RPM (Tach) and a GPS speedometer for complete accuracy. Above the radio I installed a clock and warning light "gauge" that indicates temp, oil pressure, fan or alternator problems as well as warning lights between the clock and warning light "gauge" for seat belts and parking brake. The radio is a modern AM/FM unit that fit into the stock dash and bezel (I.E., I didn't hack the dash to install it!). The steering wheel is a leather wrapped 1984 Corvette piece with a custom horn button. Yes, the horn works as does everything else, and even has a warning chime if the headlights are left on with the key off. The interior has modern front bucket seats and i have a matching rear seat I have yet to install but comes with the car. I also have the stock front seats that match the current rear seat and they come with the car as well. the stock front and rear seats were reupholstered and are in great shape. The center console is a Clarks piece and fits perfectly. The power top is in excellent shape with a clear rear window and works smoothly and goes up and down as it should. The paint is not a perfect K paint job but is shiny and very presentably with only VERY minor nicks and/or scratches. Tires have 567 miles on them. If you are in the area, I encourage you to see the car in person. I have a hoist and can lift the car for your complete inspection...nothing to hide here, you wont be disappointed. A 0 deposit is required at auction close and payment in full in 3 days or before the car leaves, which ever comes first,  via cash or bank wire transfer. NO checks, NO money orders, No bank checks, No certified checks...Cash or bank wire transfer ONLY. Please re-read the previous statement because there are NO exceptions to this policy...Period. Car should be picked up with in 7 days or have a confirmable transport arranged with in 7 days. Thanks for looking...bid now and bid often. Cars this nice don't come around very often and reserve is low for a car of this quality. For you people that care and will be messaging me, the body tag reads as follows: 01A indicating the car was built the first week of January in 1965, ST 65-10767 indicating the car is a 1965 Corsa Convertible, LOS indicating the car was built at the Los Angeles assembly plant, TR 706 indicating the car had saddle tan interior originally, PAINT J-2 indicating the car was originally Cypress green metallic with a black convertible top. The option code group reads as follows: WD   2LP   3C   4PO   5W indicating: W=tinted windshield, D= power top, 2=second option group, L= 4-speed transmission, P= comfort and convenience package "A", 3= third option group, C=padded dash, 4= fourth option group, P= comfort and convenience package "B", O= 180HP turbocharged engine, 5= fifth option group and W= deluxe seat belts. As you can see, this is a "born" Corsa turbo car. I opted for a 140 4 carb engine during restoration for reliability and better drivability, but, this was a true Corsa turbo
