1969 1970 1971 1972 Reproduction Chevy GMC C10 Bucket Seat Cab Floor Brace. Shipped via UPS. Paypal only.I have been working on reproducing the hard to find 69-72 cab floor bucket seat brace for my own project vehicle. I liked the idea of working with new metal and have enjoyed the metal working challenge. I’m making a few of these available for sale to help others out on their projects. The brace runs under the front of the cab and was factory installed on bucket seat trucks and Blazers to increase the stiffness of the cab at the bucket seat mounting locations. Bench seat trucks do not have this extra structural brace. These parts are made from a flat piece of 16 gauge cold rolled steel and are the same thickness as the original GM brace. A comparison to an original GM brace is shown in the photos (it's the one with light surface rust). They are hand formed, not stamped so they take quite a bit of time to fabricate. Each brace is made in Columbus, Indiana. I will be making these in small batches as time allows. The cab brace is not drilled for weld nuts so that you can drill the holes in the exact spot for your truck. This accounts for any truck to truck variation. I do provide 9 weld nuts total. 5 weld nuts are used for the front seat mounting and I also provide 4 for the console mounting if you would rather use weld nuts instead of sheet metal screws like GM used. I also provide 7 stainless steel pan head screws to fill in the bench seat mounting holes; the same as GM did on the factory installation. The images show comparisons back to an original GM brace. The brace is supplied in a raw finish with a light rust preventative coating. It needs to be rosette welded to the bottom of the cab floor.
Although this brace was factory installed on 69-72 trucks it is also compatible with 67-68 truck cabs if you prefer the sport buckets instead of buddy buckets. Let me know if you have any questions prior to purchasing. A link to detailed installation instructions on my own 1968 project truck with pictures is provided with purchase.
