(40) ORIGINAL BROWN BESS GUN FLINTS.Here are some interesting items. These are original Brown Bess musket flints that were made to regulation pattern in Brandon, County of Suffolk, England in the late 1700s and early 1800s as England was preparing for invasion by Napoleon. They were later stored in the Royal Armory of Nepal under British control where they lay forgotten for almost 200 years. (For more on these fascinating artifacts, I would recommend the book "
TREASURE is where you find it
..." by Christian Cranmer, in association with International Antiques, Inc. Published by Tharston Press, England 2004.)
There were 3 types
of flints knapped at the time, British Black, English Grey and French Amber. These are
"not type" photos
, these are
the actual flints you will receive
. These are wonderful for collections and displays and I believe that most of them could still be mounted in a flintlock and used as intended. These are great collectible artifacts. (I offer 1-day shipping as a matter of course, and often ship the same day payment is received. I figure once you've paid for it, you own it, and might as well have it as soon as possible.) As with all of my artifacts, they are
guaranteed authentic for life.
