    Description

    This is a guaranteed original
early gun powder flask made from a flattened cow horn.
According to Ray Riling's Book on Powder Flasks, these flattened horn flasks were popular around 1820.
It is approximately 7 1/2 inches long and a little over 1 1/4 inches thick.
The brass end cap is 1 1/4 inches by 2 1/8 inches and is firmly attached with it's original tiny brass nails.
This one needs a replacement spring that holds the opening from the horn to the charging tip closed.
It has a 3 position adjustable charging
    tip that
    will throw a 45, 55 or 65
    grain charge of black powder.
