Condition:
The sword is in good condition considering its age. Grip, however, is missing a chunk on the rear right side. Left side has some wear on the grip too. Both left and right grips are firmly attached though. Pommel and guard are all in good shape, but slightly tarnished and with some minor dings and discoloration. The bayonet catch works smoothly. There are small nicks and minor amount of rust on the blade. No pitting though. There are also scratches on each side of the sword. Finish has come off on a lot of it. The tip looks sharp. There are markings on both sides of the blade.
Scabbard and frog are in good condition showing signs of light wear. They look like reproduction pieces. There are no dings or scratches. Rust is showing on the scabbard but the frog covers it, could have been wet underneath the frog to cause this. There are a couple rust spots on the tip of the scabbard. Frog is in good shape and buckle shows no sign of wear. Leather is tightly sewn. Please see our photographs for a better understanding of the contents and its condition.
