Early Original Japanned Tin Gold Scale Box

Description

Nice early tin box that had a japanned finish, now mostly flaked from the lid but present elsewhere.
Inside are two compartment, we presume for a balance scale now missing, and the weights.
Could be used also to hold flint and steel for fire starting.
Some rust on the inside should be brushed out, but case is solid.
Measures about 2.25 X 5 X .75 inches.
