    Description

    Dating from late 19th to the early 20th Century, this is a wonderfully well-made French Folding Bowie Knife. It is mounted with a very nice clipped point Bowie style blade that measures 7 3/4 inches in length. The blade remains in good condition with only some minor light surface stains and does lock tightly into place. The beautiful checkered carved horn grips are steel pinned, remain very nice in their condition and are accentuated with a pretty small German silver push release escutcheon upon the front. The horn grips remain very healthy with only a tiny bit of insect damage along the extreme bottom edge. The chestnut brown leather scabbard remains nice as well with all the stitching intact reflecting just a little good honest wear. Overall, the Knife measures in fully extended position 11 7/8 inches in length, in folded position 8 3/8 inches.
