    Description

Interesting letter addressed to William Linnard (who was Executive Agent to Dearborn). Letter reads, "Sir, Your favor of the 11th inst. has been duly noted. I have directed the Treasurer of the United States to transmit you four thousand dollars on account of your Agency. I am respectfully your humble servant, H. Dearborn."
Dearborn served with Benedict Arnold during the American Revolution and also was a Colonel on Washington's staff at Yorktown. He was a member of Congress and was also Jefferson's Secretary of War at the time this letter was written.
Letter is in very good condition with creases from folds and light toning to the paper. Measures 7 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches.
A really neat letter from an early era in this nation's history.
Always happy to combine shipping on multiple wins!
