INFANTRY OFFICER'S SABER Model 1845 with scabbard
Brass frame.
Cap bordering bay leaves along the short tail.
Handle in more or less blackened buffalo horn, grooved to receive a twisted brass wire.
Rounded joining arc, formed in fact of three contiguous branches, the sides of which will detach to border the top while the actual arc continues to end in the rolled quillon.
The two zones thus arranged are decorated with plant motifs and cut-out rosettes.
Blade engraved "Manufacture de Klingenthal pour Coulaux Aîné" (from 1838)
Crowned "B" hallmark
Slightly curved blade
Missing watermark
Iron scabbard with a bracelet (lack of interior trim)
