    Description

Up for bids is this antique original hand forged camp ax from the late 1700's.  It was unearthed on private land in  Huron County, Ohio some time ago near an old military camp site.  Old attached label reads: "8-1/4" Iron trade axe with at least (5) "star in circle" touchmarks - excavated by Raymond Vietzen in Huron County, Ohio".
The blade has black/brown heavy pitting/ corrosion.  One of these (5) touchmark circles containing stars has been highlighted with paint.  This ax is a heavy (2.7 lbs.) and a well forged piece that shows no abuse, breakage or repairs, just lots of age.
Axe is as found and as made. Nice example of a dug relic dating to the late 1700's - early 1800's.
Will ship to U.S. addresses only.  Will ship by USPS Economy Mail.  Please ask any and all questions prior to buying.  Additional photos sent by request.  Thank you.
