  • Condition: This is a beautiful dug Light Artillery cuff button (Albert AY42) that was in service from 1808 to 1821. Its condition is almost pristine for a dug button, but I am reasonably sure that it was found in the sandy soils around Pensacola. The detail is great and the details are strongly stamped. The face is a smooth chocolate with no scratches or dings and almost no corrosion. It was stamped on a planchet that was slightly clipped at about 10:00. Some corrosion is present on the reverse, but the shank is straight and complete. No other defects are present on this excellent example of the type.
