Description
An original document that relates to the Mexican-American War. It is dated 1881. Some of the writing is hard to read, in one area it looks like it says,...........and say that they were well acquainted with Azel R. Freeman deceased, late of said County and with his son Thomas S. Freeman also deceased and that the relationship existing between the two persons aforesaid was that of father and son and that the said Thomas S. Freeman was the son of the said Azel R. Freeman and that the said Thomas S. Freeman was unmarried and was with out....at the time of his death, which was reported to have occurred at the Alamo Massacre in Texas, he being member of William Wards Company which went from the city of Macon, Ga to Texas and which said Company was reported as a portion of Fannin's Command, which was also reported as having been massacred at the Alamo by the Mexican Army under Santa Anna And we positively say that the said Thomas S. Freeman never did return by reason of his death at the time and place above mentioned........ (Just a note, I looked up Thomas S. Freeman and the information on the Alamo on one site and I did not see his name, so I'm not sure if he was killed at the Alamo.)The document has some wear and stain marks.
