    Description

    Details:
    A  Napolonic Mamaluk mace.
This piece appears to be a old recreation, more than likely late 19th to early 20th. century
Only 25 original maces are known to have been made in 1809, and would have been used my the Mamluk imperial guard. These pieces where not built for combat but for parade. These pieces are so rare they fetch in excess of 25K
The mace itself is in excellent conditon and unlike the original the head is brass.
The head itself unscrews and there is a brass washer.
The additional ports in the handle appear to have been done for display purpouses and most likel a later modification.
The overall condition is excellent and the mace is quiet heavy.
Kindly note the last three photos are reference to the original pieces.
