    Description
    Here is a nice 19th century sailor's pressgang tool in good original condition with a leather surface. The leather surface has a nice overall patina from genuine age with a weighted head and string wrist strap. Sailor's pressgang tools were used for boarding attacks, keeping sailors in line and for self defence on pay day etc. Originally from Leith docks, Edinburgh Scotland from a maritime naval collection. Not including the string wrist strap measuring 8.4 inches long and the weighted head measures 2 inches wide.
