original antique pattern 1837 Brunswick rifle sword  bayonet some of these were bought by the Confederacy early in the civil war do not know if this is one of them .21 3/4" blade,about 26 9/16" overall, all complete locking mechanism works,this has the early release, was changed in 1848,so this is pre 1848, has most of the leather washer,has regiment marking , see pics
