RARE ANTIQUE ORIGINAL MONGOLIAN WARRIOR STEEL BATTLE HELMET, ARMOR - 18TH-19TH C

Description

Up for bids is this rare antique original Mongolian/Tibetan battle helmet.  Tibetans and Mongolian peoples have made this type of helmet since around the 1200's and have continued this same style for centuries.  This one is near the end of its manufacture life due to its condition and and type of steel used.  It is of multi-piece construction consisting of nine steel plates and nine steel outer ribs overlapped and riveted together to form the bowl.  There is a one piece steel visor and an iron plume holder/vent hole atop the crown, both pieces riveted to the bowl.  The bowl measures approximately 8-1/2" across and weighs 3-1/4 lbs.  It has a dark patina with pitting and lacks the neck guard and liner.  It has no dents and no rust-through spots.  A rare and fine looking classic battle helmet.  It dates to the 18th-19th century.  Please note, this is NOT a Chinese copy or a modern reproduction of any sort.  I guarantee its authenticity.  The buyer will have a 7 day inspection/return period.  If it is found not as described in text or pictures, please notify me within that 7 day period starting on the date received.  A full refund minus the return shipping costs will be issued to the buyer upon the safe and unaltered return of the helmet.  Thanks and best of luck bidding.
