    Description

This is an original Revolutionary War Uniform Epaulet that was worn by Lt. Col. Gorus Storms.  He was the American Aide to General Lafayette.  I had this piece appraised and it was valued at ,000 to ,000.  A complete uniform is located in the North Tarrytown Library.  His grandson Henry Storms, was the Brigadier General of the New York Militia during the civil war. I was told by the appraiser that this cockade/ornament was made with actual gold and silver threads.  It will come in a frame.  This piece is in good condition and very rare.  The only other epaulets are on the complete uniform in the North Tarrytown, NY Library.  This town was renamed Sleepy Hollow, NY after the famous Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and the headless horseman.
