RARE SWORD OF INFANTRY OFFICER mle 1767
model of April 25, 1767.
copper metal
blade with colichemarde
globular pommel, with vertical streaks
slightly curved joining arch, adorned with fine edging
guard plate with two pontats
filigree spindle of a twisted wire with a much finer wire in between
hollow edge blade, but this regulatory characteristic is not always respected and we meet many blades with a median flat, half swordfish, even with colichemarde more or less engraved with interlacing or foliage
marking on the blade: "THIRET MARCHAND FOURBISSEUR PLACE NOTRE DAME A ROUEN
the marking is visible on both sides of the blade (see photo)
it seems that the leather of the blade has disappeared, we can still make out the rocket
the watermark is complete but distended following a narrowing of the spindle
4-wire watermark
the 2 rings are present
irregular blade end (see photo)
