Description

An original letter that appears to relate to the Texas Revolution. I think it is dated 1836 Goliad Texas. Some of the writing is hard to read, in one area it looks like it says,...........and here we will stay untill we will  have a battle I expect for Santaanna is on his march here now, with 1500 men but we have five hundred men and in a good forte and we think we will whip them for they are called the greatest c_wards in the ......and Half of the men have to be beat into Battle. And.....they are deserting and joning.........Our Commnader is Col. Fanning of Georgia........Cap. AE Patton........one of the Company went out on........and took twelve men as spies........
The letter has wear and stain marks, there are tears and parts missing.
