Three 1889 Decorative Pieces Celebrating Brazils Independence

I don't know a lot about these pieces so you may want to check and verify what I say is accurate. I believe these pieces were issued to soldiers who fought for Brasils independence which I believe was won on December 15th, 1889. I think these pieces are for their horses tack, possibly saddle area to show their pride and honor. I am not certain of the type of metal used. The inscription on the pieces are Estados Unidos DoBrasil 15 De Novembro De 1889. They vary in length, the smallest, 2 1/2 inches in length, the mid size, 3 inches in length and the longest being right at 4 inches in length. Beautiful pieces. Again, I am not 100% certain of my facts so please check on the history of these pieces for yourself before bidding.
