    WILLIAM JONES.
    William Jones (October 8, 1753- April 9, 1822) was a Federalist and the eighth Governor of Rhode Island from 1811-1817.  During the American Revolution he was commissioned as a captain of Marines on board the USS Providence and captured at the Siege of Charleston.
